Dennis Wolff is the Founding Principal of Rocketship Partners Community Prep. He comes to Rocketship’s third Nashville school with experience in educational leadership and teaching. Before founding Partners Community Prep, Dennis served as Assistant Principal at Rocketship Nashville Northeast Elementary where he coached second grade literacy teachers and taught fourth grade humanities.
Building on what makes Rocketship successful, Dennis is committed to making Partners Community Prep an important part of the Cheatham Place community. Rocketship supports and develops students socially, emotionally and academically. Partners Community Prep will continue this success with excellent teachers, personalized learning, and a parent-powered community. Dennis is excited to see our north Nashville Rocketeers and families beginning the path of making informed choices about their future.
Prior to joining Rocketship, Dennis was a principal at a LEAD Public School, guiding this first turnaround effort in Nashville as part of the Achievement School District. Before that, Dennis gained leadership experience as a resident principal at the Chicago Leadership Collaborative and as a principal intern during his time at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Before becoming a principal, Dennis was a teacher, athletic coach, and eventually an academic dean at an Achievement First charter school in Hartford, CT. Hartford is also where Dennis began his educational career as a Teacher for America Corps Member at Jumoke Academy.
Dennis received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Louisville where he was captain of the track and field team, and a master’s degree in education from Harvard University.
