Brian Williams is currently an independent consultant for Mission 4ward, an executive coaching, organizational strategy and nonprofit program design firm.
Before striking out on his own, he was the President and CEO of Hands On Nashville. He joined Hands On Nashville as Executive Director in April 2007, and oversaw historic growth in the organization. Working to address critical issues facing the Middle Tennessee community through volunteer-centric programming, Hands On Nashville connects thousands of volunteers each year to service opportunities supporting area nonprofits as well as its programs in urban agriculture, home energy savings, youth leadership development and support of public education.
A Tennessee native, Williams is a member of the 38th class of Leadership Nashville. He is a founding board member of Liberty Collegiate Academy, a charter school serving students in East Nashville. He also serves on the Mayor’s Advisory Council for Individuals with Disabilities, the St. Thomas Health Systems Mission & Outreach Committee, and serves as chair of the Middle Tennessee VOAD Board (Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster).
His contributions have received numerous accolades, including being recognized as the CEO of the Year at the Center for Nonprofit Management 2013 Salute To Excellence Awards. Brian also was named a 2014 Most Admired CEO by the Nashville Business Journal. Williams received his Master of Social Work with honors from the University of Tennessee and is a Licensed Advanced Practice Social Worker.
