Sin embargo, con demasiada frecuencia, los estudiantes con discapacidades quedan excluidos de los equipos deportivos de su comunidad local o de su escuela. Con un enfoque en la inclusi\u00f3n tanto en la escuela como en la comunidad para todos los estudiantes, Rocketship se enorgullece de ser la primera escuela en el condado de Santa Clara en asociarse con\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.specialolympics.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Olimp\u00edadas Especiales<\/a>, una organizaci\u00f3n sin fines de lucro cuya misi\u00f3n es brindar oportunidades atl\u00e9ticas a ni\u00f1os y adultos con discapacidades.\u00a0<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>A trav\u00e9s de esta asociaci\u00f3n, nuestro objetivo es unir a estudiantes con y sin discapacidades a trav\u00e9s del deporte. El primer evento ser\u00e1 un torneo de baloncesto que se celebrar\u00e1 el 25 de marzo entre tres escuelas de Rocketship: Mosaic, Discovery Prep y Brilliant Minds. Cada escuela enviar\u00e1 tres equipos, divididos por nivel de grado, y un grupo selecto de estudiantes para animar a sus compa\u00f1eros atletas. El evento tambi\u00e9n ofrecer\u00e1 una competencia de habilidades. Las escuelas participantes se involucrar\u00e1n en una iniciativa de toda la escuela que tiene como objetivo educar a cada estudiante sobre la importancia de la inclusi\u00f3n, creando conciencia sobre las diferentes discapacidades.<\/p>\n<p>La asociaci\u00f3n es una excelente opci\u00f3n para Rocketship porque brinda otra v\u00eda para que nuestras escuelas involucren activamente a todos los estudiantes en una experiencia inclusiva m\u00e1s all\u00e1 del aula. Las pr\u00e1cticas semanales y el evento culminante brindan una oportunidad para que todos los estudiantes participen en una actividad extracurricular. Para los estudiantes con discapacidades m\u00e1s graves, a menudo es intimidante unirse a un deporte o club en la comunidad, pero esto brinda un entorno de apoyo con menos presi\u00f3n y un mayor enfoque en fomentar relaciones positivas entre los estudiantes.
