Mi madre era una adicta al trabajo que manten\u00eda a una familia de siete y se comportaba con fuerza y \u200b\u200belegancia. La vida en casa era dif\u00edcil a veces, as\u00ed que me sumerg\u00ed en la escuela y en actividades extracurriculares. A pesar de estar involucrada en muchas organizaciones en la escuela, todav\u00eda sufr\u00eda acoso por ser afroamericana, atl\u00e9tica, religiosa y simplemente por ser una ni\u00f1a. Constantemente me molestaban por mi cabello. Hubo momentos en la escuela secundaria en los que me sent\u00ed insegura acerca de mi apariencia f\u00edsica y mis capacidades. Esto me motiv\u00f3 a encontrar mi fuerza interior. Necesitaba convertirme en la Reina que animaba a mis amigas a ser.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>El prejuicio no termin\u00f3 cuando me gradu\u00e9. En 2008, me rechazaron de una pasant\u00eda en una importante cadena de televisi\u00f3n porque me dijeron que mi cabello era \"demasiado \u00e9tnico\". Fue entonces cuando supe que deb\u00eda existir un lugar para las mujeres que promoviera la autoestima y una imagen corporal positiva. No fue hasta que comenc\u00e9 a trabajar en Rocketship que clicke\u00f3. Al notar que algunas de mis estudiantes carec\u00edan de la confianza de sus compa\u00f1eros varones, trabaj\u00e9 con la direcci\u00f3n de la escuela y fund\u00e9 QueenHype, el club al que siempre quise unirme, la familia que muchas ni\u00f1as j\u00f3venes necesitaban y la fuente para afrontar la discriminaci\u00f3n y los estereotipos de frente con confianza y claridad.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-1985\" src=\"http:\/\/www.rocketshipschools.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/bring-our-girls-back.png?w=300\" alt=\"traigan a nuestras ni\u00f1as de vuelta\" width=\"300\" height=\"222\" \/>La primera reuni\u00f3n fue dif\u00edcil, ya que las chicas admitieron tener amigas que sufrieron abuso, familias rotas y una autoestima extremadamente baja. QueenHype no curar\u00e1 la fuente de su dolor, pero es el primer paso para romper el ciclo.<\/p>\n<p>QueenHype es un movimiento dise\u00f1ado para promover un estilo de vida saludable y feliz para las ni\u00f1as. A trav\u00e9s de talleres interactivos y di\u00e1logos abiertos, las ni\u00f1as abordan luchas tanto internas como externas para identificar la ra\u00edz de estos desaf\u00edos y formular colectivamente soluciones saludables y productivas. Junto con el establecimiento de un fuerte sentido de s\u00ed mismas y de prop\u00f3sito, las j\u00f3venes forjan naturalmente una hermandad de aliento y refuerzo positivo a lo largo del programa.<\/p>\n<p>Esta unidad crea una comunidad positiva y eficaz incluso para la princesa m\u00e1s joven que se enfrenta a inseguridades perjudiciales. QueenHype tambi\u00e9n se especializa en crear conciencia sobre problemas globales que afectan a las ni\u00f1as, como la trata de personas, el abuso y la discriminaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>Enfoc\u00e1ndose en los cuatro pilares integrales de la confianza en uno mismo, la autoconciencia, la autoestima y la imagen corporal positiva, QueenHype sirve como una plataforma para que la comunidad femenina acceda a recursos y contenido que promueve el amor propio.
