Como una de los miembros fundadores de ROMO Rocketeer en 2011, Ericka ha sido miembro del equipo de operaciones, jefa de meseras, especialista en aprendizaje individualizado, intervencionista de ingl\u00e9s como segundo idioma y, ahora, una orgullosa maestra de STEM de primer grado junto a su hijo mayor, el entrenador Luna, un orgulloso entrenador deportivo. Ericka tambi\u00e9n ha sido estudiante universitaria y graduada universitaria durante sus 13 a\u00f1os en ROMO, gradu\u00e1ndose de la Universidad Estatal de San Jos\u00e9 en 2022 para poder liderar como maestra de aula de Rocketship.<\/p>\n<p>Pero hay un papel del que Ericka est\u00e1 m\u00e1s orgullosa: ser madre de un ex alumno de Rocketeer que ahora va a la universidad. El hijo de Ericka, Erick, asistir\u00e1 a la Universidad Estatal de San Jos\u00e9 el pr\u00f3ximo oto\u00f1o, siguiendo a su madre como el segundo en su familia en ir a la universidad.<\/p>\n<p>Y todo comenz\u00f3 en Rocketship.<\/p>\n<p>Para Ericka, Rocketship no era solo un lugar de trabajo; era un segundo hogar, una comunidad donde pod\u00eda marcar la diferencia. Para Erick, Rocketship fue donde no solo recibi\u00f3 una educaci\u00f3n sino que tambi\u00e9n descubri\u00f3 c\u00f3mo los valores fundamentales de Rocketship lo ayudaron a tener \u00e9xito en el deporte. Erick ahora juega para la academia junior del equipo profesional de f\u00fatbol San Jose Earthquakes, y espera ser profesional despu\u00e9s de la universidad.<\/p>\n<p>Equilibrar el f\u00fatbol y la escuela no fue tarea f\u00e1cil, pero con la determinaci\u00f3n inculcada por sus profesores y entrenadores, Erick se destac\u00f3 tanto en el campo como en el aula. Erick todav\u00eda recuerda el impacto de sus educadores de ROMO: la Sra. Duprel, la Srta. Estavillo, el Sr. Etcheverry, la Srta. Vero y muchos m\u00e1s.<\/p>\n<p>Profesores como su madre, Ericka, quien se destac\u00f3 como educadora y estudiante al obtener su t\u00edtulo universitario. Fue la primera en su familia en asistir a la universidad, superando barreras ling\u00fc\u00edsticas y estereotipos para perseguir su sue\u00f1o de convertirse en maestra en su comunidad. El trabajo de toda la vida de Ericka es demostrar a otros que los ni\u00f1os del este de San Jos\u00e9 pueden, y lograr\u00e1n, alcanzar sus sue\u00f1os.<\/p>\n<p>Como ella lo hizo.<\/p>\n<p>Como lo est\u00e1 haciendo Erick.<\/p>\n<p>Y como miles y miles de otros exalumnos de Rocketship California que van a la universidad gracias a nuestros educadores.<\/p>\n<p>Rocketship ha servido a m\u00e1s de 30,000 estudiantes en 17 a\u00f1os y cada uno de esos estudiantes aprendi\u00f3 a amar el aprendizaje porque tuvieron un maestro excelente, emp\u00e1tico y dedicado. Los d\u00edas pueden parecer largos, especialmente con el \u00faltimo d\u00eda de clases a la vista, pero los a\u00f1os son cortos.
