Cuando me mud\u00e9 por primera vez a la Bah\u00eda para empezar a ense\u00f1ar, una de las primeras cosas que hice fue comprar una base de cama de IKEA. Sin embargo, no ten\u00eda idea de lo dif\u00edcil que ser\u00eda armarla. Mientras mis compa\u00f1eros de casa y yo sac\u00e1bamos pieza tras pieza del que pronto ser\u00eda el armaz\u00f3n de su caja, ech\u00e9 un vistazo al manual de instrucciones. <\/p>\n

\"instrucciones<\/a>Ten\u00eda una imagen tachada de un personaje de dibujos animados triste intentando montar la estructura de la cama \u00e9l solo, y una imagen de tres dibujos animados mont\u00e1ndola juntos felizmente. Recuerdo hab\u00e9rsela ense\u00f1ado a mis compa\u00f1eros de piso y haber bromeado: \"\u00a1IKEA dijo que no lo hicieras solo!\". Una hora laboriosa despu\u00e9s, mis compa\u00f1eros de piso y yo hab\u00edamos montado con \u00e9xito la estructura de mi cama juntos, siguiendo el consejo de IKEA y trabajando en equipo para conseguirlo.<\/p>\n

Al mirar atr\u00e1s en mi primer a\u00f1o de ense\u00f1anza, veo que hay una conexi\u00f3n entre la construcci\u00f3n del armaz\u00f3n de mi cama y la construcci\u00f3n de los cimientos de mi sal\u00f3n de clases. As\u00ed como no podr\u00eda haber construido el armaz\u00f3n de mi cama sin la ayuda de mis amigos, no podr\u00eda haber construido pr\u00e1cticas de ense\u00f1anza s\u00f3lidas sin la ayuda de tantas personas en Rocketship. Sin la ayuda de mi coach docente, mi maestra compa\u00f1era y mi directora (por nombrar algunas), no ser\u00eda la maestra que soy hoy. Me han brindado apoyo emocional, apoyo acad\u00e9mico e incluso algunas bebidas con cafe\u00edna sorpresa para ayudarme a superar algunas semanas largas.<\/p>\n

Un ejemplo de c\u00f3mo recib\u00ed apoyo se relaciona con c\u00f3mo la planificaci\u00f3n de mi grupo peque\u00f1o cambi\u00f3 la trayectoria de mis clases. Al principio del a\u00f1o, recib\u00ed orientaci\u00f3n de mi coach en la planificaci\u00f3n de mis grupos peque\u00f1os y la instrucci\u00f3n de recuperaci\u00f3n; utilic\u00e9 materiales manipulables, p\u00f3steres de puntos clave y varios otros recursos para ayudar a mis estudiantes que m\u00e1s lo necesitaban. Los vi crecer acad\u00e9micamente a pasos agigantados. De hecho, mejoraron tanto que pude aumentar el rigor de la instrucci\u00f3n de toda mi clase. Entonces, realmente comenc\u00e9 a ver resultados.<\/p>\n

\"en<\/a>La \u00faltima prueba NWEA de tercer grado que tomaron mis alumnos se administr\u00f3 hace apenas unas semanas. Mientras un estudiante tras otro alcanzaba los objetivos de crecimiento, no pude evitar sentirme abrumado por la emoci\u00f3n. El crecimiento que vi en sus puntuaciones y confianza fue incre\u00edble. En promedio, mis alumnos de tercer grado lograron dos a\u00f1os de crecimiento acad\u00e9mico durante su tiempo en mi clase. Varios estudiantes que llegaron a mi clase con la etiqueta de \"Muy por debajo de lo b\u00e1sico\" de sus antiguas escuelas han dominado la mayor\u00eda del contenido de tercer grado.<\/p>\n

IKEA dijo que no vayas solo a por ello. Esas palabras se aplican no solo a la construcci\u00f3n de muebles suecos, sino tambi\u00e9n a la ense\u00f1anza. Mis alumnos no habr\u00edan podido llegar tan lejos sin una instrucci\u00f3n de calidad, pero yo no habr\u00eda podido ayudarles sin el apoyo de otros.<\/p>\n
