En los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os, los Est\u00e1ndares Estatales Comunes para el Desarrollo de Habilidades (CCSS, por sus siglas en ingl\u00e9s) han sido noticia en todo el pa\u00eds. Los CCSS han sido un tema de conversaci\u00f3n entre maestros, padres y estudiantes por igual. Sobre todo, la controversia actual ha generado confusi\u00f3n que ha dejado a los maestros pregunt\u00e1ndose: \u00bfc\u00f3mo afectar\u00e1n estos est\u00e1ndares mi ense\u00f1anza y, lo que es m\u00e1s importante, a mis alumnos?<\/p>\n

\u00bfQu\u00e9 es realmente el Common Core? <\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

Para abordar mejor lo que el Common Core es<\/strong>debemos entender qu\u00e9 no es<\/strong>No es un plan de estudios establecido. No es un examen.<\/p>\n

El Common Core es<\/strong> un conjunto de est\u00e1ndares<\/a> Elaborar las habilidades necesarias para cada nivel de grado. Los estudiantes de ELA de tercer grado deben poder identificar el tema principal de un texto. Los estudiantes de matem\u00e1ticas de quinto grado deben poder calcular el volumen de un objeto 3D. Pero los est\u00e1ndares en s\u00ed se abstienen de prescribir el orden o la forma de ense\u00f1ar las habilidades necesarias. Para evaluar estas habilidades, los estados individuales se han suscrito a diferentes consorcios de pruebas (siendo el m\u00e1s notable SmarterBalanced<\/a> y PARCC<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Pensamiento de alto nivel<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

Los est\u00e1ndares Common Core se crearon inicialmente con el objetivo de aumentar el rigor y las habilidades de pensamiento requeridas en las aulas y fomentar la \"preparaci\u00f3n para la universidad y la carrera profesional\" entre la pr\u00f3xima generaci\u00f3n de estudiantes estadounidenses. Los est\u00e1ndares que se eval\u00faan aqu\u00ed son b\u00e1sicos \u2013 requieren que los estudiantes aplicaci\u00f3n<\/em> de c\u00e1lculos matem\u00e1ticos, el comprensi\u00f3n<\/em> de m\u00e9tricas, y quiz\u00e1s el memorizaci\u00f3n<\/em> de una t\u00e9cnica de conversi\u00f3n (niveles 1-3 de la Taxonom\u00eda de Bloom).<\/p>\n

Sin embargo, este mismo tarea<\/a> termina encomendando a los estudiantes que dise\u00f1en un refugio temporal para cebras. Los estudiantes lo explican todo<\/span><\/h3>\n

Los est\u00e1ndares Common Core ponen un fuerte \u00e9nfasis en las habilidades de razonamiento. Tanto en ELA como en matem\u00e1ticas, se les pedir\u00e1 a los estudiantes que expliquen su pensamiento. En la muestra pregunta<\/a> A continuaci\u00f3n, se requiere que los estudiantes no solo expliquen la idea principal transmitida por el texto, sino que tambi\u00e9n utilicen evidencia del texto para respaldar su respuesta.<\/p>\n

Los Est\u00e1ndares Comunes Amamos la Alfabetizaci\u00f3n<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

Los est\u00e1ndares de Artes del Lenguaje y Literatura (ELA) del Common Core se centran en la escritura, la escucha, el habla y la lectura de textos de ficci\u00f3n y no ficci\u00f3n. T\u00e9cnicamente, la ciencia y la historia tambi\u00e9n entran en la parte de ELA del Common Core, reforzando las habilidades de alfabetizaci\u00f3n espec\u00edficas de la materia y las habilidades de alfabetizaci\u00f3n en general.
