Rocketship Parent Leaders Host 1,000+ San Jose Residents at Mayoral Candidate Forum

On May 19th volunteer parent leaders from San Jose Rocketship Public Schools led the largest Mayoral Candidate Forum of the political season with over 1,000 attendees. This is parent power in action and the power of our Rocketship community. It’s the power of WE, and that power is now ingrained in the story of our mayoral candidates’ journey and into the term of our next mayor. Our parents’ voices were felt and heard every time a mayoral candidate recognized and articulated the power of Rocketship in their responses. Thanks to the organizational efforts led by our parent leadership community, families in and outside of Rocketship are now better prepared to cast their vote on June 7th and November 7th after hearing where each candidate stands on issues around immigration rights, gentrification, homelessness, and high-quality charter schools.

Thank you all for making this event the incredible success that it was!
