Rocketship Brilliant Minds Principal, Stephanie Frenel, joined Rocketship in 2016 as an Assistant Principal. Her passion to provide an excellent education to historically underserved communities began in Washington, DC. She worked in DC Public Schools with predominantly Latino, Asian-American, and African-American communities. After graduating from Georgetown University, Steph taught first grade for several years in Brooklyn, NY as a general education teacher and special education teacher. She obtained a Masters in Teaching from Relay Graduate School of Education in New York City. In 2015, she moved to California and obtained a Masters in Education from Stanford University. Through these experiences, Stephanie was regularly reminded that effective school leadership requires constant collaboration among school leaders, teachers, staff, students, and families.
