Dr. Sewell has focused her career on strengthening instruction, supporting educator development, building positive school culture, and improving student outcomes. Most recently, she led a school turnaround, establishing clear academic expectations, stronger accountability, and targeted supports for student success. Her leadership resulted in measurable progress on the ASPIRE system, higher academic achievement, and reduced chronic absenteeism.

Dr. Sewell believes every student deserves a joyful learning experience where they are known, valued, supported, and challenged to reach their full potential. She is committed to excellence and to fostering a school environment where high expectations, strong supports, and meaningful relationships enable both students and teachers to thrive.

Dr. Sewell holds a Bachelor of Science in Secondary English Education from Southern University A&M College, a Master of Education in Education Administration from Houston Christian University, and a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from Howard University. She is married to a fellow educator and is the proud mother of a son who is entering 3rd grade.
