Benjamin Carson is the Chief Financial Officer of Rocketship Public Schools. Ben brings 15 years of experience in charter school finance, operations, and real estate to Rocketship. He previously co-founded and served as Chief Financial Officer of the Great Oaks Legacy network of charter schools in Newark, growing the organization from a single middle school to 7 campuses. He’s also worked as a charter authorizer for the NYC Department of Education, as a lender with LISC, and as an independent consultant helping schools and nonprofits across the country solve real estate and finance challenges. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Trinity University in San Antonio and a Master of Public Affairs from the University of Texas at Austin.
