Escuela primaria Rocketship Dennis Dunkins

Rocketship Dennis Dunkins Elementary is a new, tuition-free public charter school open to all students in grade PK-3 and growing to ultimately serve grades PK-5 in Tarrant County. We strive to partner with our community and lift parent voices. Founded by leaders born and raised in Southeast Fort Worth, Rocketship Public Schools Texas strives to create a community school where children not only receive an excellent education but families get the resources they need outside of the classroom so their child can show up fully in the classroom.

Our Principal

Shaunda Morrow is a native of Fort Worth, Texas with over 22 years’ of experience in education. Shaunda has had instrumental roles in school turnaround work that resulted in sustainable change in the performance of organizations which dramatically increased student achievement in academics and school culture and climate. Shaunda has a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Administration and an Undergraduate degree in Child and Human Development and Family Studies with a Minor in Science. Her educational experiences include ten years as an elementary classroom teacher and three years of experience as a middle school science classroom teacher. Shaunda transitioned from the classroom to a District Instructional Learning  Specialist where she provided leadership to ensure high standards in instructional services for all students, assisted in the effective and efficient operations in curriculum and instruction and staff development. Additionally, Shaunda was the founding team that launched Restorative Practices through the lens of Equity district wide in a district with over 100 schools. Shaunda firmly believes that the achievement gap is the direct result of the opportunity gap and once all students have equitable opportunities in education the achievement gap will be eliminated. She consults with schools all over the United States on culturally responsive pedagogy. Shaunda came to Rocketship last year as the founding Student Support Coordinator/Dean of Instruction  to become the new Principal at Rocketship Dennis Dunkins Elementary School. Shaunda embodies our core values and has already begun the work of eliminating barriers for our Rocketeers in Fort Worth and the Texas region.
