Charter School Buys Former Carmen Schools Building For $1.17M

Rocketship Public Schools plans to expand its presence in Milwaukee with the purchase of a former Carmen Schools building.

Launchpad Development Milwaukee 3 LLC, an entity of Rocketship Public Schools, purchased the building and land for $1.17 million, according to a deed recorded Tuesday by the Wisconsin Department of Revenue. Rocketship plans to open Rocketship Stellar Elementary on Aug. 28 for the start of the school year this fall, according to Rocketship Wisconsin Board Chair Brian Kilb.

“When Carmen approached us about taking on Stellar Elementary, it was a natural fit,” Kilb said in a statement.
