Parent-Teacher Partnership Starts with Home Visits
Our approach to personalized learning is focused on building deep relationships with our Rocketeers and their families. At Rocketship, this starts with our annual home visits.
This annual practice enables our educators to learn about their students’ home environments, family structures, unique interests, and to develop deeper relationships with parents. By creating multiple opportunities for families
to engage throughout the year, we’re able to support Rocketeers holistically and connect with families authentically.
“It was eye-opening—for the family and for me. Growing up, my parents didn’t speak English and never had that connection with my teachers. Now, I get to help families build a meaningful relationship with their child’s teacher before the school year even begins.”
– Andrea Ortiz, Rocketship Teacher
“I really liked this idea of home visits because at my son’s previous school, they didn’t do anything like this … the teacher and the special education specialist came to our home even before the school year started and cleared up many of my doubts. I felt much more at ease, and so did my child.” -Sandra, Rocketship Parent
