Our Executive Director
Dr. Kadeem Ruiz is the Executive Director of Rocketship Public Schools Wisconsin, leading the strategy and operations of three Milwaukee schools. A lifelong educator with deep expertise in special education and inclusive systems, he holds a Bachelors from Princeton and an Ed.D. in Leadership and Innovation from NYU and brings more than a decade of experience advancing equitable outcomes for students in urban education. His leadership is grounded in lived experience and a steadfast belief in the power of education to transform lives in service of self-determination and equal access to opportunity.

- Wisconsin Rocketeers achieved the top-tier results on the NWEA MAP—a nationally normed, gold standard assessment of academic growth:
- 1.5 years of growth in math—equivalent to 90 extra instructional days of learning
- 1.6 years of growth in reading—equivalent to 108 extra instructional days of learning
Rocketship is a tuition-free K4-5 public school and we accept applications from students entering grades K4-5. The application is free, there is no interview process and students are admitted by random lottery. All students who are residents of Milwaukee, including students with IEPs and English Language Learners, are encouraged to apply.

- Unlike most public elementary schools, Rocketship teachers engage in weekly professional development sessions.
- Each has a coach where they receive in-the-moment feedback as they’re teaching.
- Informed by data, coaches also partner with their teachers to adjust upcoming lessons to maximize student success and regularly review progress to find new ways to improve.
