Community spirit helped open Rocketship Alma in 2012 and it remains a cornerstone of the school’s identity today. Rocketeers at Alma learn to become change makers in their community who are fearless in their pursuit of equity and excellence. At Rocketship Alma, our soul is committed to service.

Rocketship Alma is OUR school, and I say that with so much pride in my heart. This faculty and organization truly cares for its students and their families. We've felt like a part of the Alma family since my oldest child attended kindergarten the founding year. I always hoped that my daughters would go to college. Why Apply Now for the 2026–27 School Year?

At Rocketship California we don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. We focus on academic growth through personalized, project-based learning that accelerates all students.
In the 2024-25 school year, Rocketship Alma was ranked in the top 3 in English Language Arts of the Alum Rock School District
On the NWEA MAP—a nationally normed, gold standard assessment of academic growth, California Rocketeers achieved:
- 1.3 years of growth in math—equivalent to 54 extra instructional days of learning
- 1.5 years of growth in reading—equivalent to 90 extra instructional days of learning

Lottery and Application Information

Rocketship is a tuition-free TK-5 public school and we accept applications from students entering grades TK-5. The application is free, there is no interview process and students are admitted by random lottery. All students who are residents of the Bay Area, including students with IEPs and English Language Learners, are encouraged to apply.
