Are you interested in becoming a teacher who catalyzes change in the community? Rocketship Public Schools offers a variety of high quality professional development programs both for those new to teaching as well as experienced educators rising into school leaders.
Rocketship Teacher Residency
This new program gives recent college graduates and career-changers high-quality teacher training and practice, while also earning a Masters of Arts in Transformative Education and working towards a multi-subject teaching credentialing!
Key Benefits of the Teacher Residency:
- Earn your teaching certification in ONE year instead of two through our partner, Loyola Marymount University (LMU)

Who Is Eligible?
- Recent college graduates or career-changers passionate about teaching
- Individuals committed to educational equity and excellence
- Current Rocketship support staff and community members who are interested in a gradual start to teaching
- Bay Area, California residents or those interested in working at one of our 13 California schools
- All applicants must have a bachelor’s degree (preferred GPA of 3.0)

Rising Leader Program
Rocketship’s Rising Leader program expands the impact of our strongest teachers by creating a pipeline of future leaders. In this program, our strongest educators have the opportunity to:
Connect: Build a cohort of Rising Leaders to learn together and from each other.
Learn: Develop and practice leadership skills – so high-performing teachers can expand the impact of their impact across your campus.

Pathways for Para-Professional to Become Teachers
If you’re a Milwaukee-based staff member, Rocketship is able to offer tuition support for up to two staff members per school who enroll in Alverno’s Para to Teaching Pathways . If staff are enrolled to participate in the Alverno program and meet eligibility criteria, they are eligible for $2000 their first semester and $1500 for each subsequent semester they are enrolled and in good standing for up to 2.5 years.
