Introducing Rhyming

Introducing Sight Words

Sight words are words that frequently show up in texts that students need to memorize in order to be able to put a sentence together when they begin learning how to read. Sight words are generally words that don’t sound as they look. Words like of, the, are, these are common in stories but are difficult for learners to sound out. By the end of Kindergarten, students will have memorized 10 lists of sight words. This lesson with Ms. De La Rosa of Rocketship Nashville Northeast Elementary introduces them to that concept to get them set up for success!
