Portia Hunter is the Rocketship Transformation Prep. She brings many years of experience in education, most recently as a Talent Recruiter Developer & Coach at the Center for Urban Teaching. Portia began her career as an educator, quickly being promoted to Head Teacher and was named Teacher of the Year in 2014 and 2020. While teaching, she also served as both an acting principal and a creative director/dance coach. Portia was also formerly an educator and later the Elementary Dean of Culture at Milwaukee College Prep. Simultaneously, she earned her Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership & Innovation. She also holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside.
